Revenue Sources

The funding model of the Science, Engineering and Technology journal is primarily based on Article Processing Charges (APCs). In addition, we warmly welcome sponsorships and institutional support, which play a crucial role in maintaining open access and high publishing standards. The journal also accepts advertising, presented transparently in a dedicated section of the website as well as in the print edition. All advertisements are reviewed to ensure alignment with the journal’s Sponsorship and Advertising Policy and academic integrity.

Thanks to the generous contributions of our sponsors, the journal is often able to waive APCs and facilitate the publication of selected articles free of charge. Authors are encouraged to consult the Author Guidelines to determine whether APCs for the upcoming issue have been fully or partially covered through sponsorship.

Note: Revenue sources such as APCs and sponsorships do not influence editorial decision-making.

Publication Frequency

The Science, Engineering and Technology journal operates under a hybrid model of continuous online publication with subsequent assignment to annual volume and biannual issues, ensuring that each article is published and made publicly available immediately after the completion of peer review, acceptance, and copy-editing processes. Upon Online First publication, each article is assigned a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI) and is fully citable and accessible to the global research community without delay. Articles published in the Online First section are labeled with their designated volume and issue, while page numbers are assigned only once the issue is formally released. This process provides early visibility while ensuring alignment with standard indexing requirements.

The journal organizes its content into archival volumes (one per year) and issues (two per year), formally released in April (Issue 1) and October (Issue 2). Once an article receives its final pagination, it is permanently archived within the respective issue and volume. This approach reflects the journal’s policy of continuous online publication with subsequent assignment to annual volume and biannual issues.

In addition to regular issues, the journal may also publish special issues dedicated to specific research themes. These issues are curated by Guest Editors and follow the same rigorous editorial and ethical standards. Special issues are published as supplements within the regular volume sequence.

Special Issue Policy

The journal intends to publish special issues in the future to further enrich its scholarly contributions.

Special issues are an integral part of our journal's commitment to disseminating cutting-edge research and fostering academic discourse. These issues consist of a collection of articles centered on a specific theme or topic within the journal's scope. Special issues aim to highlight recent advancements, provide in-depth analyses, and address emerging trends within the chosen subject area. By focusing on specific topics, special issues foster discussion, deepen understanding, and advance knowledge within the scientific community.

Submission Guidelines and Policies

Authors submitting to a special issue must adhere to the journal’s submission policies. All submissions will be managed online via the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform and undergo rigorous peer review.

In the context of special issues, the journal may include editorial articles authored by the Guest Editors. These contributions are intended to introduce the thematic scope of the issue, articulate its relevance to the broader scholarly discourse, and highlight the motivation behind the selection of included works. As non-research articles, editorials are not subject to external peer review. However, their publication is formally reviewed and approved by the Editor-in-Chief to ensure transparency, academic integrity, and alignment with the journal’s editorial and ethical standards.

All articles submitted to the Special Issue are subject to the same Peer Review Policy and Publication Ethics guidelines as regular submissions.

Additional Notes

  1. Article Count: A Special Issue typically includes 5–20 peer-reviewed articles, accompanied by an editorial introduction authored by the Guest Editors. If fewer than five papers are accepted after peer review, the accepted articles will be published within regular journal issues rather than forming a standalone Special Issue.

  2. Consistency with Journal Policies: The peer review process, publication ethics, open access licensing, copyright, and repository policies for Special Issues are fully consistent with those applied to regular issues of the journal. Any violation of ethical or editorial standards may lead to the cancellation of the Special Issue by the Editor-in-Chief. However, articlesalready accepted for publication will be included in a regular issue, provided that the authors are not responsible for the breach of standards that led to the cancellation.

  3. Timeline: The timeline for the Special Issue will be jointly agreed upon between the Guest Editors and the Editor-in-Chief and clearly communicated on the journal’s website to ensure transparency and predictability for all contributors.

Special issues enable the journal to address emerging trends and foster collaboration across disciplines. By offering a platform for focused research, we aim to advance scholarly discourse and contribute meaningfully to the scientific community.
