Publication Frequency

The Science, Engineering and Technology journal applies a continuous online publication model (Online First). Articles are published and made publicly available immediately upon completion of the peer review, acceptance, and copy-editing processes. Upon Online First publication, each article is assigned a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI) and is fully citable and accessible without delay.

At the time of online publication, articles are assigned to a designated volume and issue. Final page numbers are assigned only after the completion of the respective issue, followed by the production of the printed edition, ensuring consistency with standard indexing and archiving practices.

The journal publishes one volume per year, consisting of two issues released biannually in April (Issue No. 1) and October (Issue No. 2). Once final pagination is applied, articles are permanently archived within their respective volume and issue for both online and print editions.

In addition to regular issues, the journal may publish special issues dedicated to specific research themes. These issues are curated by Special Issue Editors and follow the same rigorous editorial, peer-review, and ethical standards as regular issues. Special issues are published as supplements within the journal’s regular volume structure.

Special Issue Policy

The journal intends to publish special issues in the future to further enrich its scholarly contributions.

Special issues are an integral part of our journal's commitment to disseminating cutting-edge research and fostering academic discourse. These issues consist of a collection of articles centered on a specific theme or topic within the journal's scope. Special issues aim to highlight recent advancements, provide in-depth analyses, and address emerging trends within the chosen subject area. By focusing on specific topics, special issues foster discussion, deepen understanding, and advance knowledge within the scientific community.

Objectives and Benefits of Special Issues include:

  • Consolidated knowledge: Special Issues serve as comprehensive collections dedicated to a specific topic, bringing together the latest research, emerging methodologies, and key developments across related sub-disciplines or new cross-disciplinary applications.

  • Focused research and innovation: By concentrating contributions within a defined thematic scope, Special Issues enable deeper scientific exploration, foster collaboration among experts, and stimulate innovation in rapidly evolving research areas.

  • Promotion of collaboration: Special Issues encourage cooperation among researchers, institutions, and industry partners, facilitating interdisciplinary dialogue and the exchange of ideas.

  • Highlighting emerging trends: They provide a platform to showcase current advances, novel approaches, and transformative technologies shaping the future of the field.

  • Enhanced visibility and impact: Thematic collections attract higher readership and citation potential, increasing the visibility of both the contributing authors and the journal.

  • Support for academic communities: Special Issues help strengthen specific research communities by providing a dedicated venue for sharing results, establishing standards, and identifying future research directions.

  • Promotion and outreach: Featured visibility on the journal’s website, social media platforms, and in dedicated promotional campaigns highlighting the Special Issue.

  • Best Paper Award: Eligible submissions may be considered for the Best Paper of the Special Issue recognition, granted based on scientific quality, originality, and impact. The award includes a digital certificate, public acknowledgment on the journal’s website and social media, and an additional privilege — a 100% APC waiver for one future submission by the corresponding author to a regular issue of the journal.

  • Networking opportunities: Engagement with editors, reviewers, and international researchers, fostering future collaborations and joint research initiatives.

Proposal and Procedures

Special Issues are typically initiated and managed by two or three Special Issue Editors. The term “Special Issue Editors” refers collectively to Editors (members of the Editorial Team) and Guest Editors (recognized external experts) formally appointed to manage a Special Issue. They operate under the oversight of the Editor-in-Chief or a designated member of the Editorial Team and follow the same peer review and editorial standards as regular issues.

Proposals may stem from conferences, workshops, or collaborations among researchers. The process involves:

  1. Proposal Submission:

    • Proposals must include a detailed outline of the theme, rationale, and potential contributions.
    • Proposals may be submitted by prospective Special Issue Editors via email to: info@setjournal.com.
  2. Evaluation:

    • Proposals undergo rigorous evaluation by the Editor-in-Chief to assess their scope, relevance, originality, and contribution to the field.
    • The Editor-in-Chief holds the final decision on approving or rejecting proposals.
  3. Call for Articles:

    • Upon approval, a call for articles is issued, inviting researchers to submit their work.
  4. Peer Review:

    • Submissions are peer-reviewed according to the journal’s standard procedures.
    • Articles are selected based on quality and alignment with the special issue's scope.

Proposals should maintain a balance between a sufficiently broad scope to attract diverse submissions and a focused thematic direction to ensure coherence and depth. Each proposal must be prepared using the Special Issue Proposal Form and submitted to the Editor-in-Chief at info@setjournal.com.

Special Issue Editors: Selection, Responsibilities, and Benefits

Special Issue Editors are formally appointed by the Editor-in-Chief based on their subject-matter expertise, academic credentials, and demonstrated professional integrity. The selection process ensures that each appointed Special Issue Editor possesses the qualifications necessary to uphold the journal’s editorial standards and ethical principles.
